FOLKERTS SELECT MAIDENHAIR TREE

Ginkgo biloba 'Folkert's Select' is a remarkable, slow-growing, male Ginkgo that offers a refined, architectural presence in the landscape. Distinguished by its smaller, thicker, and more deeply incised fan-shaped leaves, it maintains a narrow, upright, and bushy habit that makes it an excellent choice for smaller garden spaces where a full-sized Ginkgo would be too imposing. Its branches are fine and dense, providing a sculptural quality that is highly valued by collectors. As Fall arrives, 'Folkert's Select' transforms into a brilliant golden-yellow beacon, creating a stunning seasonal focal point before its deciduous foliage drops to carpet the ground below.

For the best development, 'Folkert's Select' should be placed in a site with full sun, which ensures the densest foliage and the most vibrant fall color. It is highly adaptable to a variety of soil types, including clay and compacted soils, but it thrives best in deep, well-draining, and moderately fertile ground. Once established, it is notably heat and drought tolerant, making it a low-maintenance, long-term investment for the garden. Hardy in USDA Zones 4 through 9, it is an exceptionally resilient and stress-tolerant specimen that rarely deals with significant pest or disease issues.
