LEGEND OF THE FALL FOTHERGILLA

Fothergilla x intermedia 'Alice' is commonly referred to as Proven Winners® Color Choice® Legend of the Fall®. It is a native deciduous shrub that is noteworthy for having the best fall color of any Fothergilla! It features honey-scented white flowers in spring and has excellent deer resistance and shade tolerance. This Proven Winners® selection lights up in fall with glowing hues of yellow, orange, red and purple.

Legend of the Fall® thrives in part shade in organically rich, acidic, well-drained soils. It is a perfect companion to Rhododendrons.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
