DWARF FOTHERGILLA
Fothergilla gardenii is commonly referred to as Dwarf Fothergilla. It is a slow-growing, dwarf, deciduous shrub that has a compact, mounding habit. It has fragrant creamy white spring flowers that are like bottle brushes. Blue-green leaves in summer change to brilliant yellow, red and orange in fall.
Fothergilla gardenii enjoys full sun to part shade and moist, acidic, organically rich, well-drained soils. Avoid heavy soils. It is ideal as an accent or specimen or border, foundation or woodland area plantings. It has good shade tolerance and is a perfect companion to Rhododendrons.
