FARGESIA SCABRIDA
Grower Notes:

Fargesia Scabrida is commonly referred to as Scabrida Bamboo. It is native to the mountainous regions of Sichuan, China and provides a wonderful food source for the giant pandas who live there. This is a hardy, clumping bamboo with a fairly upright, vigorous habit. It can grow to 12-15 feet tall. Its shoot sheaths have a beautiful reddish-orange color which creates a striking color contrast against the dark green new canes.

Scabrida Bamboo thrives in full to partial sun in nutrient-rich, moist, well-draining soils. It is more sun-tolerant that most other Fargesia. Ideal as a privacy screen near a summer deck or pool.
