ROHANII EUROPEAN BEECH
Fagus sylvatica 'Rohanii' is commonly referred to as Rohanii European Beech or Copper Beech. It is a majestic deciduous tree with a broadly pyramidal habit that features oak-like, serrated pointy leaves that emerge bronze-purple in spring and turn deep reddish purple in summer before maturing to orange-brown in fall. Red leaf veins and stalks contrast beautifully with the foliage. Smooth gray bark adds to its winter interest. Mid spring brings yellow-green flowers followed by bristly fruit that ripen in fall. This beautiful rich purple Beech tree is ideal as a specimen plant.
