HAPPINESS WINTERCREEPER
The Euonymus japonicus 'Happiness' is a compact shrub cherished for its radiant, golden-yellow foliage that brings a literal glow to the garden. Unlike many other shrubs that change color with the seasons, 'Happiness' maintains its vibrant, buttery-yellow hue on the new growth, which matures into a rich, lime green. It features a naturally neat, upright, and bushy habit, typically reaching a modest height and width of about 2 feet.
'Happiness' Euonymus thrives in full sun to partial shade. While it is quite adaptable, the gold coloring is most intense when it gets plenty of light. It prefers well-drained, fertile soil and should be watered regularly during its first growing season to establish a strong root system, though it becomes quite drought-tolerant once mature. 'Happiness' is incredibly low-maintenance and requires almost no pruning to keep its tidy shape, though it handles clipping well if you prefer a more formal look. Because it is salt-tolerant and hardy, it performs exceptionally well in coastal gardens or urban environments where space and air quality can be a challenge.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
