Zone: 4VANILLA DRIP™ CONEFLOWER
Echinacea Vanilla Drip™ is a sophisticated addition to the coneflower family, distinguished by its elegant color palette and prolific blooming habit. It features large, drooping ray petals in a creamy, butter-vanilla shade that surround a prominent, golden-yellow central cone. Its name perfectly captures the "dripping" appearance of the petals as they mature, creating a graceful, tiered silhouette. Unlike some taller, spindly varieties, Vanilla Drip™ is known for its sturdy, well-branched stems and a relatively compact height, usually reaching around 18 to 24 inches. The dark green, lance-shaped foliage provides a sharp contrast to the pale blooms, making them pop in the mid-to-late summer garden.
The ideal spot for Vanilla Drip™ Coneflower is a location in full sun, which ensures the strongest stems and the most consistent flower production. While it can tolerate very light afternoon shade, too much shade may cause the plant to lean or flower less vigorously. It thrives in well-drained soil and, like most coneflowers, is notably drought-tolerant once its deep taproot is established. It is highly adaptable to various soil types, including poor or rocky soils, but it will struggle in areas with standing water. Hardy in USDA zones 4 through 9, it is an excellent choice for attracting pollinators and providing dried seed heads for songbirds in the winter.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant it in well-draining soil with full sun. Water it regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the growing season. For a tidier appearance and a potential second flush of blooms, deadhead the spent flowers throughout the summer.
