MELLOW YELLOWS CONEFLOWER
Echinacea purpurea 'Mellow Yellows' is commonly referred to as Mellow Yellow Coneflower. This beautiful herbaceous perennial produces flowers that vary their color as they mature. They open dark orange, mellowing to yellow - first a dark yellow then canary and later soft pale yellow. Long blooming from early summer through mid-fall, attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Birds love the spent flower heads when winter rolls in.
Coneflowers are an eye-catching and popular perennial for many reasons. They are easy to grow and are heat and drought tolerant. They flower all summer and attract all kinds of birds and pollinators. They typically thrive in full sun, but if your summers are hot, use a bit more shade and water to prevent burning.
