SUGAR PLUM FOXGLOVE
Digitalis purpurea 'Sugar Plum' is commonly known as the Common Foxglove. It boasts upright spikes of bright pink, bell-shaped flowers with heavily speckled, dark purple throats. It blooms profusely in early summer, attracting hummingbirds for its tubular blooms and birds for the seedheads in fall. Foliage is large rosettes of downy green leaves. It is a biennial meaning it lives for two years (only foliage the first year, blooming in its second year).
Sugar Plum Foxglove is easy to grow and deer and rabbit resistant. It enjoys full sun to partial shade in average, evenly moist, well-drained soil. Ideal for naturalized areas, cottage gardens, beds and borders.
