FIRST EDITIONS® HIGH VIZ™ HONEYSUCKLE

Diervilla High Viz™, commonly known as High Viz™ bush honeysuckle, is a standout, high-impact deciduous shrub prized for its remarkably vivid, luminous yellow foliage that holds its bright color all season without scorching in the sun. It brings exceptional visual energy to mixed borders and mass plantings, offering a vibrant contrast against darker-leaved shrubs and perennials. As an added bonus, it bursts into bloom during the summer with clusters of small, bright yellow flowers that act as a magnet for pollinators like bees and butterflies, ensuring lively ecological activity in the garden well into the warmer months.

For optimal performance, plant High Viz™ where it will receive full sun to partial shade; while it adapts well to varying light levels, the brightest foliage coloration is achieved with at least some direct sun daily. It enjoys average, well-draining soils and exhibits excellent drought tolerance once established, making it a low-maintenance choice for slopes, erosion control, or challenging landscape areas.

Planting Tips ⓘ

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in average to well-draining soil, noting that these shrubs are remarkably adaptable to a variety of conditions, ranging from full sun to partial shade. While they demonstrate excellent drought tolerance once established, provide consistent moisture during the first growing season to encourage a deep, robust root system. It requires little more than an occasional pruning in early spring to shape the plant and encourage fresh, vigorous new growth for the coming season.
