Zone: 2OLD FASHIONED BLEEDING HEART
Dicentra spectabilis is commonly referred to as the Old-Fashioned Bleeding Heart. It has been a garden favorite for years! It features long, arching racemes of heart-shaped pink flowers with white tips. It blooms from early summer and lasts for several weeks before going dormant where ferns and Hostas usually take over the summer show.
Old-Fashioned Bleeding Hearts thrive in partial shade in evenly moist soils with little or no direct sun. The old-fashioned bleeding heart is elegant and long-lasting, a true classic. It is perfect for shady gardens and is a great companion plant for other shade-loving plants, such as hostas, ferns and Astilbes. It will add a touch of beauty and romance to any shady garden.
