FRUIT PUNCH® WHIPPED CREAM PINKS
Dianthus 'Whipped Cream' is a refined, double-flowered pink perennial celebrated for its crisp color, compact form, and wonderful clove-like scent. Blooming profusely from late spring into summer, its fully double, pure white flowers with frilled margins stand out against its dense mound of blue-green foliage. 'Whipped Cream' keeps a tight, cushion-like structure that does not flop or open up in the center. Its fragrant blooms serve as a magnet for butterflies and pollinators, making it an ideal choice for edging pathways, rock gardens, container displays, or massing along the front of perennial borders.
Dianthus 'Whipped Cream' requires full sun to encourage continuous blooming and strong stem growth. It enjoys neutral to slightly alkaline, sharply draining soil, as excessive wetness or heavy clay soils, particularly during winter dormant periods, will quickly lead to root rot and crown decline. Once its root system is firmly set, 'Whipped Cream' demonstrates remarkable drought tolerance and heat resistance while naturally discouraging deer and rabbits.
