NIKKO DEUTZIA
Deutzia gracilis 'Nikko' is a beloved quintessential groundcover, prized for its graceful, arching habit and prolific spring display. This award-winning dwarf shrub transforms into a low-spreading carpet of white in late spring, as hundreds of tiny, bell-shaped flowers completely blanket the foliage. Reaching only 1-2 feet in height but spreading up to 5 feet wide, 'Nikko' is a premier choice for suppressing weeds on slopes, softening the edges of stone walls, or serving as a refined, flowering facer plant for taller foundation shrubs.
Beyond its legendary spring bloom, 'Nikko' offers a long season of visual interest with its fine-textured, willow-like leaves. The deep green summer foliage remains neat and crisp, eventually transitioning to a striking deep burgundy or purple in fall, providing an unexpected late-season color boost.
