Zone: 4CRIMSON CLOUD HAWTHORN
Crataegus laevigata 'Crimson Cloud' is commonly referred to as Crimson Cloud Hawthorn. It is a broadleaf, deciduous tree with a dense, rounded habit that is noteworthy for its 'almost thornless' branches, beautiful red and white flowers, and glossy dark green leaves. In May, it produces small, single, dark red, highly fragrant flowers with creamy white centers that attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Flowers fade to showy bright red fruit in fall which the birds love.
Crimson Cloud Hawthorn is resistant to the leaf blight that afflicts other Hawthorns. It thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-draining soils. This long-lived, tough, beautiful thornless Hawthorn will undoubtedly become your favorite tree!
