Zone: 4TOKI WHITE CLEMATIS
Clematis 'Toki' is a beautiful variety from Japan that features pure white 5-7 inch wavy flowers with yellow stamens. They are one of the earliest blooming clematis with blooms appearing in late spring and again in early fall. It has pinnate, dark green leaves through its growing season. It thrives in full to part sun in rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
This mid-season bloomer flowers from May to June on previous season's growth. It has a heavy flush of flowers that occur in May and June followed by a possible second smaller flush in September on current season's growth. There is some shade tolerance with this variety.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: This variety of Clematis falls in Group 2. Plant with the crown (base of the stem) 2-3 inches deep in well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Mulch well to keep the roots cool. Pruning: Prune lightly in early spring, just as the buds begin to swell. Remove only the weak, dead, or damaged stems, and trim back the remaining vines to the top set of healthy buds. Avoid cutting these to the ground, or you will lose the early season flowers.
