STRAWBERRY MOON CHITALPA
Chitalpa tashkentensis 'Strawberry Moon' is commonly referred to as Strawberry Moon Chitalpa. It is an ornamental hybrid of Catalpa and Desert Willow trees and is noteworthy for its large, bright pink blooms that appear from late spring through fall. This tough, fast-growing tree features a unique multi-trunk structure that branches out in interesting and appealing ways. Its soft, thin, green leaves enhance its open branching structure and turns yellow in fall.
Strawberry Moon Chitalpa thrives in full sun in slightly acidic, loamy, sandy, well-drained soils. They can be drought tolerant once established, but generally prefer evenly moist conditions.
