TOP POINT WHITE CEDAR

Chamaecyparis thyoides 'Top Point' is commonly referred to as Top Point White Cedar, Top Point Southern White Cedar or Atlantic White Cedar. Is it a dwarf evergreen coniferous shrub with a narrow, upright habit. It can reach 6-7 feet tall with a 2 foot spread, growing roughly 3-5 inches per year. This compact selection features two types of foliage, both needle-like and scale-like. Attractive medium green foliage in summer transforms to a rich purple blush with bright red stems come winter. It can be utilized in large containers as focal points for entryways or in informal or cottage gardens.

Top Point White Cedar thrives in full sun in evenly moist, well-drained soils. Providing even moisture gives you the best results.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in the spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
