GRACILIS HINOKI FALSECYPRESS

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis' is commonly referred to as the Hinoki Cypress or Gracilis Hinoki Cypress. It is a compact, upright, tree form of Hinoki Cypress with much denser branching than is typical for its species. It features tall, open-branched, pendulous branches in various planes of dark green fan-like foliage.

The Gracilis Hinoki Cypress enjoys full sun in moist, fertile, well-drained soils. It is ideal for screening, hedges and specimen plantings.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
