Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Filicoides Compacta' is commonly referred to as the Compact Fernspray Hinoki Cypress. It is a beautiful, slow-growing Hinoki Cypress with a compact, narrow habit and dark green fern-like spray foliage on graceful, arching limbs. The name 'filicoides' means fern-like.
The Compact Fernspray Hinoki Cypress thrives in full sun, but can tolerate part shade. It does need a well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerate.
