CHIRIMEN HINOKI FALSECYPRESS

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Chirimen' is commonly referred to as Chirimen Hinoki Falsecypress. It is a strikingly unique, dwarf, upright form of Hinoki cypress which was named after the Japanese kimonos' wrinkly textured silk fabric. It features congested clusters of irregularly textured foliage shoots that point upward in varying shades of green and bluish-gray.

The Chirimen Hinoki Falsecypress requires excellent drainage in full to part sun and evenly moist, rich, well-drained soil. It is ideal for miniature gardens!

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant it in a location with full sun to partial shade. Use a well-draining soil mix and maintain a consistent moisture level. Prune it regularly to maintain shape and promote healthy growth, taking care not to damage the subulata foliage.
