The Appalachian Red Redbud blooms a vivid shade of deep fuchsia red in early spring. Heart-shaped blue green foliage emerges in mid to late spring and turns yellow in fall. In its native habitat, the 'Appalachian Red' grows as an understory tree in part sun with soils that are rich in organic matter.
