Zone: 3ALLEY CAT WEEPING REDBUD
Cercis canadensis 'Alley Cat' is commonly referred to as Alley Cat Redbud. This attractive selection of Eastern Redbud is prized for its showy heart-shaped, variegated foliage and its small, pea-like dark pink flower clusters in spring. Blooms cover bare branches in early spring before leaves form. Foliage emerges copper pink and soft green, maturing to a variegated green splashed with white. Foliage will not revert to green nor scorch in the sun.
Alley Cat thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is easy to grow and enjoys organically rich, evenly moist, well-draining soils. It is generally pest free and will need very little pruning. It is ideal as a specimen plant or in shrub borders.
