RED COCKSCOMB
Celosia argentea, in its classic red cultivars, delivers some of the most intense, saturated crimson and scarlet tones found in the plant world. The fiery red, long-lasting flowers sit above contrasting clean green foliage, making them a premier choice for high-visibility mass plantings, focal points, and dramatic accents.
From a care perspective, red Celosias are heat-loving annuals that reach their full potential during the peak of summer. They demand full sun and sharply drained soil, as poor drainage can quickly lead to root rot or stunted growth. While they possess excellent tolerance to heat, humidity, and short periods of drought, keeping the soil evenly moist and providing regular fertilizer will reward the grower with much larger, more prolific flower spikes. Highly versatile and durable, red Celosias maintain their brilliant color without fading, providing an exceptional performance in landscape beds, patio containers, and both fresh and dried floral arrangements until the first hard frost.
