The Dwarf Southern Catalpa 'Nana', also known as the Umbrella Catalpa' or Indian Bean Tree 'Nana' is a perfect choice if you want to shape and prune a tree into the perfect umbrella. This deciduous, shrubby, dwarf cultivar of Catalpa has heart-shaped, bright green foliage that matures to yellow in fall. It has a shallow root system with panicles of fragrant, white tubular flowers that appear in July.
The Umbrella Catalpa thrives in full to part sun and enjoys moist soils that are high in organic content.
