SUNSHINE BLUE® BLUEBEARD

Caryopteris incana 'Jason' PPAF, CBR2316 is commonly referred to as Sunshine Blue® Caryopteris or Sunshine Blue™ Bluebeard. It is a small, upright, deciduous shrub that features bright yellow fragrant foliage and rich amethyst blue flowers from late summer to fall that attract butterflies, bees and other beneficial pollinators.

This Proven Winners® Color Choice® selection is easy to grow and maintain. Sunshine Blue® thrives in full sun in evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate standing water. It is deer resistant and will do well in perennial and shrub borders as well as cottage or butterfly gardens.

Select a site that receives full sun to partial shade, noting that maximum sun exposure ensures the most prolific flowering and vibrant foliage color. Prune hard in early spring, cutting back to just above the new growth, to stimulate sturdy stems and prevent the plant from becoming woody or leggy. Apply a light layer of organic mulch to the root zone to retain moisture, ensuring the crown remains clear to prevent rot.
