Native Flame® American Hornbeam is noteworthy for its fire engine red fall color display and its superb, upright growth. This tough, slow-growing, deciduous shade tree has an upright, oval habit that matures at 30' tall and 20' wide.
Native Flame® thrives in deep, rich, moist and slightly acidic soils. It is adaptable to urban environments and has a nice, smooth, fluted, bluish-gray bark that adds to its winter interest after its fall color show. A beautiful tree for urban shade.
