NEPETA LESSER CALAMINT
Calamintha nepeta subsp. nepeta is commonly referred to as Nepeta Calamint. This bushy, rhizomatous perennial of the mint family features a spreading, compact foliage mat with upright flowering stems with small white flowers. Flower stems rise to 12-18 inches and attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Foliage is grey-green, very fragrant when touched or crushed, and are often dried and used in potpourris and sachets.
Calamint is very long blooming and deer resistant. They thrive in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Can tolerate light shade in the afternoon.
