WHITE ANGEL WINGS
Caladium White (Fancy Leaf) brings a cool, crisp, and sophisticated tropical elegance to the shade garden, famous for its unmatched ability to brighten up the darkest corners of a landscape. This premium selection features oversized, heart-shaped leaves with luminous, snowy-white or cream centers, beautifully framed by deep green margins and a delicate network of dark green veins. Growing on long, elegant stems from warm-weather tubers, the translucent foliage forms a lush, upright clump that stands 14 to 20 inches tall and spreads 12 to 18 inches wide.
Because the white-pigmented centers lack protective melanin, these varieties are the most sun-sensitive of the caladium family and must be planted in partial shade to full shade. Protection from harsh, direct afternoon sun is absolutely critical to prevent the delicate, paper-thin leaves from scorching or melting away. In landscape design, they are a premier choice for creating high-contrast mass plantings under dense tree canopies, illuminating dark borders, or serving as a dramatic "thriller" in premium shade containers and patio urns where they look stunning alongside dark-leaf begonias and ferns.
They thrive in rich, loose, highly porous, and well-drained soil, preferring consistent, even moisture without sitting in soggy, waterlogged ground.
