SPRINTER® KOREAN BOXWOOD

Buxus microphylla 'Bulthouse' PP25896 Proven Winners® Color Choice® Sprinter® is commonly referred to as Sprinter® Boxwood. This Proven Winners® Color Choice® selection is an improved form of Winter Gem Boxwood and features a faster growth rate and glossy green evergreen foliage that holds up well to winter weather.

Sprinter® Boxwood is hardier than English boxwoods and thrives in full sun to part shade in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Pruning is rarely needed but may be trimmed in summer. Ideal as a low hedge or in formal gardens.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil, selecting a location that offers full sun to partial shade. Buxus varieties are known for their shallow root systems, so consistent watering is vital to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during the first growing season. Prune as needed in late spring or early summer to maintain your desired form, avoiding late-season pruning which can stimulate new growth susceptible to winter damage.
