NEWGEN LIBERTY BELLE™

Buxus NewGen Liberty Belle™ is a distinctive and elegant broadleaf evergreen shrub that is celebrated for its graceful, arching habit and slightly weeping branches, which give it a soft, informal texture in the landscape. Its foliage is notably dense and glossy, maintaining a vibrant, deep green color throughout the year without the bronzing that can happen with other varieties in winter. Reaching a mature size of roughly 18-24 inches tall and 3 feet wide, Liberty Belle™ serves as an excellent low-growing groundcover or an alternative to mounded shrubs.

Liberty Belle™ should be planted in partial shade to dappled sunlight, as intense afternoon sun can sometimes scorch the leaves. It enjoys well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil and benefits from a layer of mulch to keep its shallow root system cool and moist.

It is ideal for woodland gardens, low borders, or spilling over stone walls, where its natural pendulous shape can be showcased. Unlike many boxwoods that require constant shearing, Liberty Belle™, is best left unpruned or only lightly thinned, making it a low-maintenance choice for gardeners who prefer a more organic, fluid aesthetic.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune regularly to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
