WEEPING RIVER BIRCH

The Summer Cascade is a gentle weeping river birch that only gets to 8-15 feet tall when mature. It has exfoliating bark which exposes the brown under layer. If not trained, it can make a large mounding shrub. It can be trained and staked, allowing it to trail at whatever height you decide. It is a fast-growing birch that is quite adaptable and is similar to Betula pendula 'Youngii', but with exfoliating bark! It tolerates wet soils and most soil types and does well in the summer heat.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in full sun to partial shade with moist, well-draining soil. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth. Consider staking to prevent damage from wind.
