Belamcanda chinensis 'Hello Yellow' is commonly referred to as Hello Yellow Blackberry Lily, Iris domestica 'Hello Yellow or Hello Yellow Leopard Flower. It features bright yellow, star-shaped flowers that rise above green, flat, sword-shaped foliage in late summer and fall. Each flower usually lasts a day, but it produces a succession of blooms over a period of several weeks. Interesting tan, pear-shaped pods develop and open to reveal clusters of black seeds resembling blackberries. The seed pods add additional interest through the winter months as well as look fantastic in fresh or dried flower arrangements.
Hello Yellow Blackberry Lily is easy to grow and thrives in full sun in humus-rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Do not let the soil dry out. It is ideal in sunny borders, city gardens and containers.
