GUMPO PINK EVERGREEN AZALEA

Azalea satsuki 'Gumpo Pink' is an attractive dwarf evergreen shrub celebrated for its late-season bloom and compact form. As a Satsuki hybrid, it typically flowers later than many other azaleas, producing a showy display of large, single, soft rose-pink flowers in mid to late spring. These charming, ruffled blooms often feature a deeper pink blotch and can be so numerous that they virtually cover the entire plant. Maturing to a small size, usually around 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, its dense, mounding habit and small, glossy dark green foliage make it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, borders, rock gardens, small spaces, and container gardening, providing year-round structure in the landscape. It's also noted for being heat-tolerant and attractive to pollinators like bees and butterflies.

'Gumpo Pink' Azalea thrives in partial sun to dappled shade, where it is protected from the harshest afternoon sun, especially in warmer climates. Like all azaleas, it requires highly acidic, rich, and well-drained soil that is consistently moist but never waterlogged. Regular watering is essential, particularly when establishing the plant and during hot, dry spells. To maintain its health and vibrant color, gardeners should fertilize with a slow-release, acid-specific fertilizer in early spring after the risk of frost has passed or immediately following its blooming period.
