DELFT LACE FALSE SPIREA
Astilbe 'Delft Lace' PP19,839 is commonly referred to as Delft Lace False Spirea. This beautiful, easy growing Astilbe features lacy, deep blue-green, waxy foliage with red highlights. Deep pink buds open to soft apricot pink plumes in early summer which attract butterflies. In fall the foliage displays a touch of burgundy, and the long-lasting flower plumes turn a rich caramel color.
Delft Lace Astilbe is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in partial to full shade in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for dappled sun perennial or woodland borders, along streams or in containers. Companion plants for Astilbe include: Rhododendron, Hosta, Ferns, Heuchera, Ligularia and Japanese and Siberian Iris.
