Grower Notes:

Astilbe chinensis 'Pumila' is commonly known as Dwarf Chinese Astilbe or Dwarf False Spirea. It is a popular dwarf groundcover herbaceous perennial with green leaves topped with fluffy, upright, lilac pink flower plumes. It is one of the last Astilbes to bloom, typically from late summer to early fall.

Pumila Dwarf Chinese Astilbe thrives in partial shade or dappled sun in organically rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate dry soils.

It is ideal for the front of borders or containers. Companion plants for Astilbe include: Rhododendron, Hosta, Ferns, Heuchera, Ligularia and Japanese and Siberian Iris.
