Zone: 5FRIKARTS MONCH ASTER
Aster x frikartii 'Monch' is commonly referred to as Frikart's Monch Aster. Asters traditionally light up the late summer and fall landscape with their colorful blooms, but not many have exceptionally long bloom times as Frikart's Monch Aster. It is one of the first asters to bloom with vibrant blue flowers with golden centers from midsummer through fall. It attracts bees and butterflies, providing a great source of nectar for all beneficial pollinators.
Frikart's Monch Aster thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is drought tolerant once established and also deer and rabbit resistant. Frikart's Monch Aster is a reliable performer that thoroughly enjoys the final days of summer's warmth. It is ideal for late summer and fall borders and woodland and butterfly gardens.
