Asclepias tuberosa 'Gay Butterflies' is commonly referred to as Gay Butterflies Swamp Milkweed. This herbaceous perennial has a wonderful mix of giant flowerheads in vivid shades of red, yellow and orange that bloom from June to autumn's frost. Flowers attract, bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. In addition, swamp milkweed is an important food source for the larval stage of Monarch butterflies.
Gay Butterflies Swamp Milkweed is easy to grow and maintain. It thrives in full sun in moist soils. Ideal for moist borders and other sunny naturalized areas.
