SONGBIRD™ CARDINAL COLUMBINE
Aquilegia 'Cardinal' is common referred to as Cardinal Columbine. It is part of the Songbird™ collection of Columbine that features upward facing, bicolor flowers with red and white petals from late spring to early summer. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Foliage is bluish green with a fern-like texture. It is a short-lived perennial, but will self-seed.
Blue Bird Columbine are deer and rabbit resistant. They thrive in partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soil. With Columbines it is best to avoid heavy or soggy soils as they prefer very well-drained soils. Ideal for beds, borders and dappled sun spots in the garden. Makes a great cut flower too!
