DREAMING SWAN™ WINDFLOWER

Anemone Dreaming Swan™ is a standout perennial known for its elegant, bi-colored flowers featuring soft lavender-blue petals with a contrasting white reverse. The semi-nodding blooms are held on dark, wiry stems above a compact clump of deeply cut green foliage, creating a graceful, airy effect in the garden. Flowering from midsummer into early fall, it provides valuable late-season color while attracting pollinators such as bees. Compared to traditional Japanese anemones, Dreaming Swan™ offers a more restrained, clump-forming habit, making it easier to incorporate into smaller or more controlled planting designs without the concern of aggressive spreading.

For best performance, plant Anemone Dreaming Swan™ in rich, well-drained soil with consistent moisture, as it does not tolerate prolonged dryness. It thrives in partial shade, especially with morning sun and afternoon protection, though it can handle more sun in cooler climates if adequately watered. It is ideal for woodland edges, shaded borders, or naturalistic plantings where its delicate blooms can move freely with the breeze.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, plant it in rich, well-drained soil with consistent moisture, as it prefers evenly moist conditions and can struggle if allowed to dry out. Choose a site with partial shade - morning sun with afternoon protection is ideal - though it can tolerate more sun in cooler climates if kept adequately watered. Incorporating organic matter at planting time will support healthy root establishment and long-term vigor. Deadheading can encourage continued blooms, while leaving some stems later in the season adds soft movement and texture to the garden.
