Alcea rosea 'Purple Rain' is commonly referred to as Purple Rain Hollyhock. This hybrid variety is part of the Spotlight® series that features sturdy 5-6' spikes of blue-purple flowers that open from the bottom up all through the summer. It blooms the first year and attracts all the pollinators. Pinch to produce a more compact and bushy plant.
Purple Rain Hollyhock is deer and rabbit resistant as well as rust resistant. It thrives in full sun in average, well-drained soils.
