Zone: 6PINK PEARL HUMMINGBIRD MINT
Agastache 'Pink Pearl' is a standout perennial within the hyssop family, cherished for its exceptionally large, dense flower spikes and compact, bushy habit. Unlike taller, leggier varieties, 'Pink Pearl' maintains a tidy form, reaching approximately 12 to 15 inches in height. From midsummer through early fall, it produces a prolific display of pearlescent, rosy-pink tubular flowers that emerge from darker calyxes, creating a beautiful two-tone effect. The foliage is equally appealing, possessing a pleasant minty or licorice-like fragrance that acts as a natural deterrent to deer and rabbits while serving as a powerful magnet for hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees.
The ideal spot for Agastache 'Pink Pearl' is a location in full sun with sharply-drained soil. Proper drainage is the most critical factor for its success, especially in winter, as it will not tolerate "wet feet" or heavy, saturated clay. It is highly drought-tolerant once established and thrives in areas with lower soil fertility, making it a perfect candidate for rock gardens, xeriscapes, or sunny mixed borders. Hardy in USDA zones 6 through 9, it benefits from being left standing through the winter to protect the crown.
