URBAN SUNSET® SHANTUNG MAPLE

The Urban Sunset® Maple (Acer truncatum x platanoides 'Urban Sunset') is an upright, narrow deciduous tree with a uniform head and compact size. It has glossy, dark green leaves that remain attractive throughout the growing season. In fall there is a color explosion of deep red tones.

The Urban Sunset® is noteworthy for its cold weather hardiness. The compact form, combined with its ease of growth and few seeds, makes this tree ideal for street tree plantings. It thrives in full to part sun with well-drained soil.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
