JACK FROST® ICE DRAGON MAPLE

The Ice Dragon® Maple is the smallest member of the Jack Frost® hardy series which offers the visual appeal of a Japanese Maple, but is extremely hardy to withstand harsh climates. Its finally cut, lacy leaves emerge orange-red, maturing to green, with fall bringing yellow, orange and red colors. Its undulating branch structure is a feature during the winter months.

The Ice Dragon® is a deciduous tree with a strong central leader with a rounded form. It is relatively low maintenance and thrives in full to part sun in evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for yards, gardens or containers.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun to partial shade, and well-draining acidic soil. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with an acidic fertilizer.
