JAPANESE MAPLE


Acer palmatum is commonly known as the Japanese Maple. It is a plant native to Japan, Korea, and China. It is a deciduous shrub or small tree that can reach heights of 15 feet with a similar spread. Its leaves are wide, palmately lobed with five, seven or nine pointed lobes. It thrives in part sun in evenly moist, fertile, slightly acidic, well-drained soils.
