TWOMBLEYS RED SENTINEL JAPANESE MAPLE

The Twombly's Red Sentinel Japanese Maple is a columnar Japanese Maple with dense foliage that keeps its deep burgundy color through Thanksgiving before turning red and orange in late fall. It is a sport of the popular Bloodgood Japanese Maple and is similar with its rich burgundy color, but offers a more narrow form and better leaf retention.

Twombly's Red Sentinel thrives in full sun or part shade in evenly moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. It is ideal as a specimen plant in gardens or containers.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
