Acer palmatum 'Summer Gold' is commonly referred to as Summer Gold Japanese Maple. It is noteworthy for its showy golden yellow foliage throughout the summer. Leaves emerge light green in spring, and unlike other golden Japanese maples, this selection holds its color even in hot, sunny climates. In fall the foliage turns even brighter yellow for a stunning end of summer show.
Summer Gold Japanese Maple thrives in full to part sun in rich, fertile, slightly acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soil. It is ideal for small gardens, containers or as a specimen plant.
