BUTTERFLY JAPANESE MAPLE

The Butterfly Japanese Maple is a slow-growing, shrub-like Japanese Maple with beautiful variegated foliage. Its twisted leaves are gray-green with creamy white margins that are often edged with pink in spring. White portions of the leaves turn scarlet in fall.

The Butterfly Japanese Maple thrives in full to part sun in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. It makes an idea specimen tree, and will look great in containers or trained for bonsai.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with an acidic fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
