BONFIRE JAPANESE MAPLE

Acer palmatum 'Bonfire' is commonly referred to as Bonfire Japanese Maple. It is a dwarf, upright, slow-growing small deciduous tree with small coral pink and orangey red leaves in spring, turning rich green in summer and maturing to fiery orange-red in fall.

Bonfire Japanese Maple thrives in filtered sun in moist, rich, well-drained soil. It is an excellent choice for bonsai plantings.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure the soil is rich in organic matter. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, and consider adding a layer of color with annuals or perennials.
