Abies lasiocarpa Glauca Compacta is commonly referred to as Subalpine Fir, Blue Rocky Mountain Fir, Blue Compact Subalpine Fir or Glauca Compacta Dwarf Blue Subalpine Fir. This dwarf, slow-growing, pyramidal evergreen features powder blue needles that have a soft appearance and are soft to the touch. Dense branching forms a tight conical form which is quite attractive and resembles a perfect Christmas tree.
Glauca Compacta Dwarf Blue Subalpine Fir thrives in full sun in rich, loamy, sandy, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
