Zone: 2GOLDEN KOREAN FIR
The Abies koreana 'Aurea' is commonly referred to as Golden Korean Fir. It is a very slow growing evergreen conifer with lemon-yellow needles with silver-white undersides, abundant purple-blue cones, and a globe-shaped habit. Over time, 'Aurea' becomes a large pyramidal tree.
Golden Korean Fir is deer resistant and thrives in partial sun when young. As it ages, it will tolerate more sun which brings out the best color. It enjoys rich, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils. It is more tolerant of heat and humidity than most other firs, but performs best in cooler climates.
